Reason being, when it was young in the nest box most probably his mum step on his body which results in this way and his body is slant. It is like mayb now about 3mths old soon. i think it was born in late July 08. Still young. So right nw its legs are tied, hopefully in future it can correct its walking etc... Right now he is improving. Been eating and very active. when we brought it home on 4th OCT we thought he cant live long. But right now with the time spent n everything with it, its health is improving. But really pray its leg will b correct in time to come.

cheers~ more photos to share soon. Most importantly would like to thank a friend of mine who help to modify abit of his hamster cage to a comfortable hazard free cage. Cos previously when i first brought it home i left it in a bigger bird cage which is nt really advisable for a bird like tweety. But right nw it has a comfortable little cage of its own. Thanks !!

fluffy finally home

finally got my new pet/friend Fluffy home!. Tough time as we had to litter train it, ppl say it's hard and require 1- 2 weeks. But for Fluffy it was a piece of cake. She managed in just 2 days. when ever she's out of her cage nw, if she needs to do any biz she will hop back into her litter. Fluffy is just 2mths plus old. Do not knw the exact date she was born but only knew she was born in July. We adopted it tho adoption fees applicable. When we brought her back, we were very worried if she doesnt eat her food etc... indeed the 1st night she was all stress out, din really eat anything. Everyone at home was cuddling it, until the next morning she was all active again. I think she missed her mum very much. Because her mum was with her for 2mths while all her other siblings were adopted. Kinda sad when i carry her out of her cage, as her mum was sniffing me n her baby. But eventually we had to seperate them. Very happy to have her home, to have a good home and she's also a great company with my dog. This is the first time i'm keeping a rabbit. thought about it for 3yrs. I had a pair when i was like in primary sch and my mum was the one looking after them. So i would say i'm a first timer and everything went smoothly. Mayb i guess i'm just an animal lover. If i ever have a chance to work in animal related field i will be most happy. But my parents do not allow. Sigh... so what i can do is volunteer. Anyway i find that rabbits, they are like dogs, tho nt as high IQ as dogs. but if you really cant keep a dog i would say a rabbit can be a subsitute.
I strongly encourage adoption. You can go to SPAC or some rabbit wealfare society for adoption in singapore. Anyway below are some photos of my adorable Fluffy.
cute right. lol tho very different color as what i posted. hah. fluffys have gt an overall look of her dad. and color mixture. as u can c those brown spots are from Mum. There were many changes made to it, as usualy im a animal lover freak so, i get very excited, jaws dropping when i was at the birds of prey bird show. Oh oh and the snow OWL my favourite, i think you guys should know what a snow Owl looks like. Manage to capture this picture of it. Cos in the showcase its in the dark, din want to blind the birds with flash so din manage to capture any until the bird show. But some irritating ppl, blind/frighteen the birds in the dark room with their flashes. Sonw owls can be found in the popular movie "harry potter". Love how it calls out to other owls. The Penguins, is also one of my favourite. Below are some viedos which i took u can notice in the viedo there is a brown furry figuring, i think thats the baby. We thought of customizing her a cage made of acrylic, but did not go ahead with the purchase as the price was really out of my budget $700-$800. But it really look gd as we design it. Too bad that plan failed. In the end last saturday after wk, me & my hubbi went to serangoon North to hunt for a cage which is affordable & gd enough for it to stay at night cos we will fence up a little corner at home for it's activity outside the cage.
We managed to get a cage worth only $50 and i think the color is nice compared to others out there that day. Below is the pic which we purchase on 27/08/09, so cheap $50 only gt brand somemore but doesnt look like it ahha.. If u guys know that for small animals they gt this so called' branded' product i forgot whats the name. Well anyway i think it is a steal.

*Tip number 1 which i learn from most shops is that have to put a rubber matting on the cage to prevent ur bunny feet from getting dirty. Hope this tip helps for those who have dirty bunny feet. (:

after we got hold of this cage and other bunny items like food bottle, gromming tools, we speed home to place items n set it up. After which we went to collect our bunny FLUFFY........ immediately. haha... (to be continued, collection of fluffy + arrival of fluffy)

excited

wow... feel very excited cos very soon i will be adopting a loop ear rabbit, which look quite like the one at the above pic. Gosh they r really good in hiding. most of them were found early in the morning in the bathroom when my parents wake up. Recently 1 which really suprise me was that it actually bit & dig its way into the kitchen cabinet the filler portion which i have no idea hw it did that. & how it got in there( cos u all knw hw cabinets are constructed no gaps etc). it was really like WOW... cos it managed to push out cement, bits & pieces of tiles.
So 1 morning my mum found it very strange hw cum there are so many dirt on the floor at the filler portion of the kitchen cabinet. So as soon as i found out 1 of the hamster actually escaped we think mayb it might be 'her'. So that night before we all went to bed my dog actually sniffed & behaved strangely at the kitchen cabinet corner. So my mum left two tiny pieces of bread & water. So the next morning, the bread was gone and i heard funny noise inside. Ah... it was the 'her' digging inside like a termite that morning. i called her name n she slowly dash out n ran to me. hmm... u mayb wondering true anot u call her name & it ran out towards me. but well it's true, well i duno y i feel i have a bond with my hamsters. Well mayb cos everyday i will play with them for an hr and observe them everyday :D mad right. ahha dats me :D anyway my hamsters are all very well behaved. (: Welll nw the cabinet is slightly damage but it's not visible

my other hamsters

he llop

hmm have been posting on my winter whites but i think ive never posted my 3 cuties robo & my molted pair. One of my Pearl couple, they actaully escaped and 1 of them dropped into another family tank. the little guy that drop in i guess he was very unlucky as he dropped into a tank which has 5pups 4day old inside with both parents. Due to defending the family the parents faught with that poor guy. SAd to say it lost. the parents were injured as well. zzzz... he died on 19th May 08 Vesak day. I felt terrible, sad sigh.. hw can such things happen. and also when he died, his partner acutally went missing for 1 day. we search high n low for it but failed. So i placed some food outside hopefully it will come back for food. But it Failed as well. Only until the next day in the morning, when my mother was in the kitchen preparing some breakfast, she felt something on her toes... n immediately she knw its the missing hamster. Poor girl, lost & hungry for 1 full whole day. He was actually abandon by his previous owner cos it sings too much and its kinda noisy and you wont tolerate if youre not a full animal lover. It will juz sing in the middle of the night where both my love birds wuld be already sleeping. Kinda poor thing cos it was abandon and we bought it home cos the adoption was not free it COST a Bomb for this bird cos of its breed n its beautiful tail. We fell in love so we did not hesitate much abt the cost. Ard $180. Well, Nice was staying somewhere else before coming to my place cos was not ready over at my place and everyone was pissed haha... n was sent back, at fault no proper planning. So he was back at the shop we ask aunty to keep it for us first, !! shocked to hear that He was being attack by other birds n his tail Feather was gone, Ugly and really ugly. Then we had to bring him back to my home. it took quite sometime for it to adjust to the surroundings n me. i Got bitten a few times. and it being shock most of the time, jumping flying hurting itself i tot his tail i tot was no hope. so After abt half a year he gt use to the life style n soon his beautiful tail feather grew. As for Dodo, she doesnt sing. she only knw hw to make a 'Arh' sound everymorning. She's very tame as we bought it home when she was young. Taken care by my hubbi. He was the mummy. He feeds her with milk everyday for like a month abt 3 times a day. which is quite troublesome when we have to go to work int he morning. But my hubbi & her survived. Cos i ever heard that these birds quite hard to be weaned and some rely on the milk too much n eventually died. Normal Winter White & Sapphired colored are up for adpotion. But Adopter have to provide us with either one of these items as shown in the image below. Avaliable at various pet store. Dun forget to bargain for cheaper deals from them. Some shops do offer discounts.

Hamster food (Multi-Vitamins)by jolly pet products 800g

OR Corn Cob Bedding by Brown's 5lb.(2.27kg)

The Pearl white below is Dash Mummy. This was taken 2 days before she gave birth. Look at her lower body so Round. and she's quite heavy compared to her normal self. Hmm, the hamsters that she gave birth i would say they look strong n healthy cos they r quite big when they are day 1 old compared to MiMi's Pups. Anyway Mimi gave birth again and this time round, lack of experience again her baby are all over the place again but thanks to Creamy Daddy for placing them back into the nest. Back to Dash babies which are avaliable for adpotion this time.tired mum

Day 1

Day 3
Approx~ 3weeks

this is an image i took from the net. Which tells us the colors of the winter whites. So if anyone is interested in adoption and is fine with the terms. Do drop us an email if you have anymore questions or drop us for for details or if u have any questions on hamsters/ birds/ dogs. BTW The price range for Normal n Sapphired color winter whites if im not wrong is $10 - $12 or more as i ever came across shops selling $30 for this. zzzz which is almost equal to price of rare breeds. cannot stand those shops that market their hamsters at such high price, cheating those who have no knowledge of hamsters. Do drop us an email anytime we will get back to you within 48hrs : animal.discovery@yahoo.com.sg

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://animaldiscovery.blogspot.com/2008/04/dash-pups-for-adoption-this-time-her.html' title='Dash pups for Adoption this time. More than 95 percent of the seals killed each year. Some of the baby Seals have not eaten soild food or gone for their first swim. They are killed as young as 3mths old and are utterly defenseless againts the hunters. Seals are slaughtered for their fur. Can't they Wear something else instead of the fur of the seals. Hurting the defenseless being with a club without any guilt. and even wanting to hurt the HSUS and HSI crew members.

Canada's hunt is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on Earth, with hundreds of thousands of seals killed annually. I seriously dont understand why the government allow sealers to kill 275,000 harp seals—5,000 .??no offence but I seriously hope they can take some action as the hunters are ruthless to the seals.

I'm against the hunt how about you? we cant do much but i guess signing a pledge and not buying seafood products from canada wuld help?

You can do your part to help the seals : U can make a pledge at this site http://www.hsus.org/

Please help Protect / Save the Helpless Seals.

xiaobai & Lilo

Xiaobai i my dog of 6years and Lilo was abandon by the previous owner. I heard that the previous owner used Lilo for mating purposes only and only keeps mother and not him. Lilo is a very nice and playful dog. But it doesnt like some of my family members. and hates strangers or anything BLACK. My brother actuali adopted him back but for a few mths we had to give it away sob* cos it bit the newpaper man.The previous owner called us she said that they will need him soon for the next mating period. OMG i feel like slapping her. and of course we did not give them and she actually threaten us and i told my bro gf at that time we can do action on this. As its not their dog anymore. She did not even name the dog. Lilo i believe is a 2-3year old dog without a name and we name him LILO as soon as it was adopted by my bro. Tho we had to bring it up for adpotion again i feel sad for lilo as it cant stay with us. From my understanding, my bro said that a partime groomer actually adopted him. Which im very happy and i hope he is having a good time.

eggs that have never been hatch b4

This is Chirpy(m), my dad actually found it on the streets and brought it home with him. Chirpy is a Peachfaced+fisher Mixed love bird. I do not know the exact specie name. After keeping him for a year, we decided to find him a mate. Being a mixed species, we had problems finding a mate for him. As we wanted a peachfaced lovebird(F) for him. We did not read very much on Chirpy's species and thought it wuld not be a problem during mating, But the birdshop owner assure us that it will not be a problem. We went to various bird shops in Singapore, hunting of a partner for him hehe... After a few mths we gave up and went back to the usual hang out where all bird craze ppl wuld be. & to my suprised, Chirpy finally found a mate which was a fisher. fishers are very aggressive and fierce. I had to think about it before buying it from the owner. But seeing both of them so loving and only a few mins of interaction they clicked, without hesitation we bought the bird. eggs that were lay and never been hatch before total 30++ eggs and we decided to stop. look how amazing and hard working the mother bird is. the beautiful nest made up of just sticks which i threw into the cage. it even built a curtain to cover sunlight from entering the nestbox. I felt sad for the pair cos sometimes i feel they are just arguing and having the female sitting on the eggs for the day etc... we felt that soemthing is not right and it is not possible unless 1 of them has a problem. I went to do detailed research and to my suprise, Chirpy was infertile which means he can not fertilize the eggs. I didnt believe it at first and let them tried laying eggs giving them the best food we can give to norish their body. but the eggs never hatch. But no matter what they are still a pair of loving birds. Both birds were abandon by previous owners. I still remember how the mother bird look like when i first brought her back she look sick and skinny, feathers all dull but right now they are Great!

.They are still a loving pair of lovebirds.

the black one 13March08

This is the second time my Pearl Winter White hamsters gave birth.
